Why Telehealth?
Soul Thrive Therapy utilizes telehealth for all therapeutic and coaching services. All services are conducted via video or phone.
According to the Center for Connected Health Policy, Telehealth (also referred to as remote therapy or telemedicine), "...is a collection of means or methods for enhancing health care, public health and health education delivery and support using telecommunications technologies. Telehealth encompasses a broad variety of technologies and tactics to deliver virtual medical, health, and education services. Telehealth is not a specific service, but a collection of means to enhance care and education delivery."
Benefits of Telehealth for Clients
+ Time
Time is one of our most valuable resources. Being able to access therapy and/or coaching from the comfort of your home is extremely convenient. It saves you time getting ready, commuting, possibly finding child care, and allows you to return to whatever calls your attention as soon as our session ends.
+ Work-Life Balance
Similar to time, many clients report being able to better balance their days when they can access therapy from their homes or places of work. Though confidentiality can be a concern, most people are able to find a quiet, private place for an hour. Providing you the help you seek without detracting from the other important priorities in your life.
+ Accessibility
Online healthcare now makes it easy for everyone to receive the care they need. Often times, those experiencing a disability may not have the privilege of visiting a brick and mortar therapy practice. Or children and teenagers whose parents cannot take off work and drive them. And what about if you live across the state, or in another state than the practitioner you align with? With remote therapy, this is no longer an issue!
+ Safety
Sometimes weather is treacherous. Sometimes illness strikes. Sometimes late sessions are necessary. Being able to prioritize mental and emotional health and not worry about the above is a huge advantage.
These are just a few key points, but there are many others! If you would like a full list of client benefits and considerations for choosing telehealth, please click here.
The pandemic brought with it many lessons, personally, professionally, and collectively. Everyone was encouraged and mandated to turn inward, which created massive shifts in our current systems – school systems, healthcare systems, and work systems. As a practitioner, it helped me realize our current mental health system was operating within some constraints that may no longer serve us as we adapt to our changing world.
Telehealth was thrust upon us, and I believe it is here to stay.
Personally, telehealth has been a complete blessing. I am able to balance my life in a way I never thought possible. This balance provides me the time and space for self-care and self-reflection, allowing me to show up for my clients fulfilled, energized, present, and ready to join them in their journey.
Prospective clients may have concerns about starting therapy and coaching online, and I am happy to discuss those concerns with you at any time.
Thank you for being open to this new way of connection, and I look forward to working with you!
